“Justice is what love looks like in public,” a quote by Cornel West, has been at the heart of why 8th Day Center created the public witness of its annual Good Friday Walk for Justice 38 years ago. This will be the last year the Center hosts its modern day Way-of-the-Cross.
We will revisit the issues and prayers used in previous walks, and connect those issues of the past to our current reality. We invite the walkers to reflect on how the same unjust systems and power imbalances contribute to our experiences today. What will our love look like in the future?
Please join us for this holy act of love–to remember, to resist, and to be in solidarity with those working to dismantle unjust structures.
When & Where: Gather at the corner of Congress Pkwy and Michigan Ave at 12:00 p.m. on March 30, 2018. We will follow the same route as previous years, continuing to the Chicago Board of Trade, Federal Plaza, Daley Plaza, and the Thompson Center. The event will end by approximately 3:00 p.m.
